Carving Pumpkins

Sorry everyone that it's been a while since I updated this. We haven't had a whole lot going on other than just the normal business that is our life. Tonight we got to take some time and go to my parents house to carve pumpkins with the family. Rob and Susan were there as well as the three of us. My mom loves to do this every year, even though, not everyone else is as enthusiastic about it as her. We always have a good time though, and she tells us now we have to keep up the tradition for Alex. Speaking of our little wild child, she had a great time running around while we carved. We tried to get her to stick her hand inside the pumpkin but she was not a fan of that. She did like sitting on the table with them though and taking the lid off and on. She even gave the pumpkin and said "aww, nice". They turned out great as always! We're looking forward to taking Alex out in her candy corn costume Friday so we'll definitely have pictures of that to share soon too!

Family Birthday Celebration

Today Alex and I went with Justin's parents up to Steve and Sheri's new place for a birthday celebration. We try to get everyone together to celebrate birthdays every couple months. Unfortunately Justin could not get off work today so he couldn't go and Mike, Tara, and the kids ended up not being able to join us either but the rest of us got together for the day. We celebrated Steve and Nate's birthdays (Justin's brother and his little boy). We had a great time. We don't get to see them that often, so it's always nice when we can get together. This was the first time we got to see their new place-it's a great place for them (lots more room for their big family). Alex and her cousin Nate (who just turned 2) had a blast together. It was so nice to see them playing and having fun. They chased each other all over the house all day long-they were laughing and having a great time! I tried getting some good shots of them but they were moving so quick that it was hard. I did get a few though not the best. Alex was so tired by the time we got in the car to leave, she crashed on the car ride home.

Friends!

Here are some current pictures of Alex. The other little baby in the pictures is Brayden (the new little one my mom is watching a few days a week). At first she wasn't sure what to think of him, but I think she's warming up to him now. It will be nice for her when he gets a little bigger and can play a little more. She has a blast at Grandma's! She loves the other kids so much, but I think Matthew is her favorite playmate. She gets so excited to see them all in the morning when I drop her off, that she doesn't even notice when I leave- I guess it's a good thing. She is in excellent hands and always has a fun day. Grandma reads a story with her every day and does a project. Her bin of crafts is already filling up fast. We always have lots to hang on the fridge. She is really getting into coloring these days, thanks to Grandma. She loves it so much that she gets mad when you put the crayons away. We are so thankful she can spend her days at Grandma's house while we work!
Alex's favorite thing to do is read-she loves her books!
